MH CET Law Result 2024 - Normalization of Marks

The State CET cell, Maharashtra undertakes normalization of marks in the MH CET Law 2024 exam through Equated Score Computation Method to ensure fairness in examination. The MH CET Law 2024 normalization of marks is a process through which scores are adjusted for candidates who appeared in the different shifts of the exam. Due to multiple factors, the difficulty level in each shift varies and to ensure fairness, the CET cell normalises scores of candidates. The normalization of scores is done to ensure candidates are neither disadvantaged nor benefitted due to differences in the difficulty level of different shifts. The MH CET Law score normalization through Equated Score Computation Method is described below:

• Step 1: First, the Mean and Standard Deviation of the scores of all the students who appeared in the exam is calculated considering it as one group.
• Step 2: Second, the Mean and Standard Deviation of scores in individual session is calculated
• Step 3: Next, the Standard Score of each student in relation to the Mean and Standard Deviation of the individual session is calculated using the formula
• (Total Marks – Mean of the Session) / Standard Deviation of the session
• Step 4: Next, the equated score for each candidate is calculated using the formula (Standard Score x Standard Deviation of all the students as one group) + Mean of all students as one group
• Step 5: The equated scores are rounded off to the nearest whole number. Candidates with score of 0 are not eligible for admission process.
