IPU CET Law Seat Allotment 2017: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) carries out a strategically planned procedure for allotment of seats for admissions to various under-graduate law programmes. Candidates are given a chance to select the college and course of their choice at the time of counselling. GGSIPU fills the seats through a detailed counselling process conducted in both online and offline modes. The process of seat allotment will go on during June-July since the admissions will close by July end. GGSIPU has laid down certain important instructions related to the counselling of IPU CET Law 2017, according to which the seat allotment will be carried out. Details regarding the IPU CET Law seats reservation can be referred to as follows.
Seat Allotment of IPU CET Law 2017
Candidates will be given a chance to fill their preferences of chosen colleges. The IPU CET Law seat allotment 2017 will be carried out only after the choices have been filled by the candidates.
Seats will be allotted based on the merit secured by the candidates as per the merit list of IPU CET Law 2017.
In order to be eligible for the seat allotment procedure, candidates should have paid the counselling fees along with registering themselves and filling in their choice of law institute.
Once the seats have been allotted to the candidates, the list will be made available online.
A provisional seat allotment letter will be issued to the candidates who have been allotted seats in the colleges. A print out of the provisional allotment letter must be taken out by the candidate.
A monetary amount in the form of academic fee of Rs. 40 thousand must be paid by the candidate in order to confirm the seat allotted to them. Payment can be made in both online and offline mode. If candidates are unable to make the payment due to any reason, they will not be eligible for further rounds of counselling.
Candidates must carry all the required documents and be present in person at the designated centres of GGSIPU in order to be considered for the allotment of seats.
The cutoff of IPU CET Law 2017 will decide the minimum marks required to qualify for the counselling or seat allotment process of IPU CET Law 2017.
Seats will be allotted for a maximum of three rounds, including the spot round.
Important Documents Required During Seat Allotment of IPU CET Law 2017
When the candidates receive the provisional allotment letter from the University as an invitation to the seat allotment process, they must carry the following documents for verification purpose as officially prescribed.
Admit Card of IPU CET Law 2017 (original copy)
Printout of the Provisional Allotment Letter
Academic Fee Acknowledgement Receipt for the payment of Rs. 40 thousand.
All previous years’ mark sheets right from 10th class to college, original copy of reserved category certificate, and 10th class certificate. One set of photocopies of all these documents must be attested by a gazetted officer.
For candidates having pursued open education or distance learning, a valid proof of the location of their study centre along with certificate from the University validating the location of the study centre must be produced by the candidate.
Original character certificate (not more than six months old) either from the Head of the institute last studied in or from a gazetted officer.
Undertaking in case the result of the qualifying exam is awaited.
A non-refundable counselling fees of Rs. 1000/- must be paid within the stipulated timeline by the candidates who have qualified in the IPU CET Law 2017.
Seat Freezing – IPU CET Law 2017
This is a process in which a candidate can finalise or freeze the seat allotted to them after each counselling round. Candidates can do this if they do not wish to participate in further rounds and are satisfied with the seat allotted. If this option is not availed in any round, a seat of higher preference as chosen by candidate will be allotted keeping in mind the availability of the same. In this case they will no longer have the option of retaining the previously allotted seat.
Seat Withdrawal – IPU CET Law 2017
This process gives candidates a chance to withdraw their admission against the allotted seat by following the prescribed process online. As per the norms laid down by GGSIPU, once the allotted seat has been withdrawn by the candidate, they will no longer be eligible for further counselling procedures.
There are total 11 law institutes affiliated to GGSIPU for which admissions are conducted through IPU CET Law 2017. The 11 colleges offer a total of 1905 seats for admissions to five year integrated under-graduate law programmes.
