ONGC will be recruiting the CLAT 2017 postgraduate law programmes (LLM) candidates on the basis of their law admission test scores. Moreover, it should be noted that only scores of CLAT 2017 will be taken into account and not that of the previous years. ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017: General information
Candidates require filling ONGC online application form for the PSU recruitment through CLAT 2017.
Candidates applying for ONGC Limited need to have registered mandatorily for CLAT 2017.
Candidates require providing an active e-mail id and a mobile number (the same as given for CLAT 2017 applications) as future communication regarding PSU recruitment will be made on these only.
Candidates need to fulfil eligibility criteria for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017 else the candidature may get cancelled.
Candidates employed in PSUs and Government departments will be required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ at the time of interview.
The shortlisted candidates for interview rounds will have to bring their CLAT score cards at the venue.
The candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) of OBC category will only be entitled for reservation benefits.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories including SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD will need to bring their respective certificates at the interview.
Final appointment of candidates will be subjected to passing of the Company’s Medical Examination as per the standards laid down under ONGC’s Medical Examination of Employees Rules, 1996.
ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to read eligibility criteria of ONGC before filling the application form for recruitment through CLAT. The eligibility criteria for ONGC recruitment is different from that furnished by Chanakya National Law University Patna and CLAT Committee but it mentions the required minimum academic qualification, essential qualification and age limit besides the minimum passing marks required for filling ONGC Assistant Legal Advisors recruitment 2017 application form.
Candidates should have a full time Bachelor’s Degree in LLB or equivalent either after pursuing five-year integrated or three-year law programme. The LLB degree programme should be recognised by UGC/ AICTE and BCI.
Those who are in the final year of their LLB degree programme can also apply for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017. However, they will have to provide their LLB degree marks sheet and course completion on or before July 15, 2017, failing which will lead to cancellation of their candidature.
Candidates applying through CLAT 2017 for ONGC recruitment against Assistant Legal Advisors (ALA) positions need to have passed the LLB degree (3-year or 5-year integrated) with at least 60% marks.
The percentage of marks will be calculated in aggregate of all semesters.
In case of marks awarded in CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI/ DGPA or Letter Grade, the equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in the ONGC 2017 recruitment application form. Moreover, candidates will also need to submit a certificate from the University at the time of interview.

ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017: Selection Process
The eligible candidates will need to fill CLAT application form 2017.
Once CLAT 2017 results have been announced, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of ONGC (Assistant Legal Advisor) recruitment 2017 on the basis of their CLAT scores 2017.
In the second stage of ONGC recruitment, candidates will have to appear for Interview.
ONGC India Limited will accept only scores of CLAT 2017.
The final selection for Assistant Legal Advisor position in ONGC through CLAT 2017 will be made after considering the marks obtained in Common Law Admission Test as per CLAT results 2017, educational qualification, and performance in interview conducted by ONGC.
ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017: Break-tie in merit list
If candidates have obtained equal marks in CLAT 2017, there arises a tie in merit list for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2017. In such case, the tie will be broken in the manner and process as mentioned below.
Overall performance, i.e., Weightage of CLAT score added to marks obtained in interview (CLAT score + ONGC interview marks).
If total marks and overall performance is equal, then age will be considered where preference will be given to older candidates.
